What is your standard cancellation policy?
1. Cancelled at least 3 days before picking up, no further charges apply.
2. Cancelled between 1 – 3 days before picking up, 50% of the rental charges (including accessories and insurance) is payable to the booking agent.
3. Cancelled on the day or no show, 100% of the rental charges (including accessories and insurance) is payable.
4. Cancelled during the hire so long as 24 hours’ notice is given. In this case, the hirer must still pay the normal fee applicable for the hire. If the hirer has already paid the full amount, there is no refund for the outstanding days.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, the deposit is $2500 if insurance is taken with a third party (booking platform), if insurance is taken directly with Kiwi Car Rental, it depends on the insurance option opted.
What happens if the car breaks down during the rental period?
We have hand-picked quality cars known for their sturdiness and lack of issues. However, sometimes issues occur, so we can provide you with the 24/7 roadside assistance number, which needs to be contacted for assistance. We don’t provide roadside assistance
Are there any mileage restrictions for long-term rentals?
All our vehicles have unlimited mileage withouth any extra charges.
Which drivers licenses are covered by insurance?
All international drivers’ licenses that is accepted in NZ, and meets the criteria as stipulated by the NZTA will be covered by the insurance. Click on this link NZTA for more information.
What documents are required to rent a car long-term?
To rent a car long-term, we will need a valid NZ driver’s license. If no NZ driver license, then need to have a foreign drivers license, passport and approved International Driver Licence, and a credit or debit card for payment.
Is insurance included in the rental cost?
No, it needs to be purchased either with third party or Kiwi Car Rental
What are your minimum rental durations?
Our minimum rental duration for car rentals is 30 days.
